The trumpet - it's pretty cool, isn't it? There aren't a whole lot of instruments quite like it... Prominent in a variety of genres like classical, jazz, pop, R&B, and blues, the trumpet leaves a lasting impression on each tune it's a part of.
By taking trumpet lessons through M&M, we'll enable you to hone into that big brassy sound you're so familiar with, and in whatever context you want to work on! In addition to solid trumpet playing, lessons will also focus on overall musicianship including development areas such as music theory, reading music, musical interpretation, ear training, and more!

Do I need to provide my own instrument?
YES. We can certainly appreciate that not everyone has a trumpet laying around the house. If you're interested in pursuing this instrument, it's essential to get the necessary equipment (trumpet and mouthpiece). Many music stores in the region offer affordable instrument rental programs. Please let us know if you need resources for where to rent or purchase!
What do lessons look like?
We tailor our lessons around the student's interests. While there are definitely trumpet-specific fundamentals that you'll be working on to become proficient overall, the intent is to have time dedicated specifically for whatever your musical goals are. Maybe that's learning the trumpet part in Uptown Funk, learning how to improvise over jazz standards, or building range. We want you to have fun and make meaningful progress!

My kid wants to play the trumpet and I don't know anything about it... what can I do?
That's what we're here for! Your instructor is always a resource for you. If you want to learn the best way to help your child practice, keep an eye out for focus areas during practice time, or overall just want to learn more about music... don't be afraid to ask questions!
